My Take: THE SKY IS PINK

My Take: THE SKY IS PINK

It’s a movie about love, hope, life, motivation and most importantly how parents could go to any extent for their children. Priyanka Chopra returns to Bollywood through Shonali Bose's epic family drama “The Sky Is Pink” a biopic of teenage motivational speaker and author Aisha Chaudhary who died of pulmonary fibrosis in 2015 at the age of 18 only. It shows the real-life challenges and how to stay strong after facing tremendous mental pressure while handling a life-threatening disease. All those children who are grown up now and wish to settle their parents to old age homes as they are scared of losing their privacy, should go and watch this film once. A Mother, a father can sacrifice even their lives for their children's wellbeing. So this is a movie to witness with a heart full of warmth and a sensitive mind.

Aisha & Aditi Choudhury

The film quickly explains, through Aisha’s own voice, though she is dead now. She asks you not to pity her but the film showcase her winning over life. Right at the onset, you can glean that the film will hand-hold you through the lives of these characters, giving you constant cues of when to cry and when to laugh, without allowing moments to think ahead as every scene showcased an unpredictable essence about Aisha’s condition. This film a great emotional diet to taste at the juncture of your life when you fail to celebrate every moment. The film will teach you to appreciate little moments in life and love it no matter how many problems it gives you. It reiterates that life is not about the start or end; it is about those moments you create with your loved ones in between. It leaves you with subtle but valuable lessons to take home like “Nothing is more important than your family”. Agar tumhe lagta hai tumhara sky pink hai, toh hai. Your sky can be whatever colour you wish. No one can forcefully change it to blue.
