My take . The GOP power players admit among themselves that Trump was Putin's lapdog. Scenarios as to off ramps and how that affects Ukraine

In the 1930s, there were Soviet agents, i.e. one of them being Alger Hiss, whom held undo sway in America, for a ten year period. As verified by Venona project? which was a United States?counterintelligence?program initiated during World War II by the United States Army's?Signal Intelligence Service?(later absorbed by the?National Security Agency), which ran from February 1, 1943, until October 1, 1980. There were a slew of high placed moles in the USG whom resisted disclosure as to what occurred during the 1930s to the mid 1980s.

We have a similar situation today , and instead of it being the general US government it is the upper echelons of the GOP who were exploited and targeted.

Coming out of this morass, when it hits a political movement and/or a political party is one of the worst nightmares for honest people imaginable.

I will say it here. Trump is in the same way Alger Hiss was in the 1930s and 1940s a similar target and purveyor of Russian influence

My family members defended Alger Hiss when he was brought up at all in family discussions for decades, as his inditement seemed to be the height of McCarthy era injustice. So I know personally how explosive it is to process being manipulated as to this sort of issue.

Needless to say, as hard as it is for the GOP to do it, it is time for THEM (core GOP members) to begin to unwind the deception which has lead them, against ALL evidence to cling to Donald Trump

But I feel like there's a lot more willingness among elites in the Republican Party to challenge Donald Trump."

She later added, "Republicans know, and I'm sure you know this from your reporting on the Hill, but in a general election, once you move past our primary, Donald Trump is a capital 'L' loser, and they all know that. They want to move beyond him because they would like to win their elections. They did better in 2020 than he did, they're likely to do better in 2022 the more that they can avoid this conversation being about Donald Trump. I think the same is going to hold in 2024 so they can pick somebody else, they got a much better chance of beating the Democratic nominee."

What is at stake is, do the GOP stalwarts really want to be associated with a Former KGB agent of influence, and then Lavrov's pet poodle?

Recall how Trump feted Lavrov in the OVAL OFFICE ? in 2017 after Trump fired FBI director James Comey ? And Trump ANNOUNCING to Lavrov how nice it was to fire "whack job" James Comey ?

Denial only goes so far. It is not just the RUSSIAN connection.

A second Trump term will lead to the utter destruction of Ukraine as a nation, with Russian army units invading BERLIN, and Lavrov dictating US FOREIGN and DOMESTIC policy , with photo ops right in the OVAL OFFICE 2025.

Does the GOP really wish to be associated with that ? Seriously

Time to cut Trump out from GOP discussions and to, in GODS NAME, MOVE ON.

A. Scenario one is that the GOP grows a spine and DELETES the history/memory of Trump as a power player. DeSantis, warts and all would be 1000 times better than what was raging nonstop from 2017 to the end of 2020

I do not agree with DeSantis in ANY policy decisions At least though he is NOT TRUMP.

B. Scenario two is that the GOP plays dead to D.J. Trump and continues to suck up to Russian Federation propaganda

If it is scenario B, the USA is destroyed as a nation, Ukraine is annihilated and Russia is the GLOBAL super power of the 21st century

Scenario A would at least preserve the independence of the USA as a federal Republic.

I await as to if the GOP grows a spine. If not, this COUNTRY, AMERICA IS FINISHED

Panicky Republicans know Donald Trump is a 'capital L loser': CNN analyst

Tom Boggioni

July 24, 2022

During a CNN panel discussion on Sunday morning, political analyst Kasie Hunt claimed Republicans love what Donald Trump does for the party but also know that he would lose again if he is on the ballot against a Democrat in the 2024 presidential election.

Reacting to Saturday opinion pieces in the Rupert Murdoch-owned New York Post and Wall Street Journal?calling the former president "unfit" to hold office again, Hunt said that is a sign that the tide has turned against Trump.

"Look at everything that we've learned of the last several weeks, host Manu Raju prompted. "Kasie, what do you take away from what we've learned so far?"

"I think that the place where that seems to be having the most impact is within the Republican establishment, such as that it is," Hunt replied. "When you see some evidence this week, the Wall Street Journal editorial board, the New York Post editorial board both saying, look these hearings might be a farce, that's how they look at them on the right in many cases, but quite frankly what we learn about on Trump is completely unacceptable."

"And I think you're also," she continued before changing track, "I'm hearing from some of my Republican sources who are hoping to work for other Republican candidates in a 2024 presidential primary. Now I think the trick with that is that if there is a whole bunch of people who get in to run against him, it kind of clears the way for him if he's going to run for the nomination.
