My Summer at Q2

Last week marked the end of my summer internship at Q2, one of the fastest growing companies in North America. Q2 empowers its customers financial journeys through its SAAS solutions. A mission driven company, Q2 is set on “strengthening communities by strengthening their financial institutions.” From the first day all interns were exposed to the core values set by founder, Hank Seale. Everyday I was able to see how each employee at Q2 keeps the Q2 mission alive, and approaches each day with an immense amount of passion, leading to the company's great success.

The experience I had at Q2 was something I will never forget. Every week interns were given opportunities to connect with executive leaders all around the organization. We had networking, and learning sessions throughout the internship that helped everyone develop invaluable industry skills, and form long lasting connections. Q2 also made sure that every single employee was taken care of during this pandemic and arranged various virtual events, ranging from yoga classes to happy hours! 

During my 10 weeks at Q2 I was placed on the Biller Direct Team in the Product and engineering department. As a Data Analyst I was given the task of working with data to derive business critical insights. I was able to take data from various sources and aggregate it into meaningful visualizations and reports. All of this aggregated data was very important to help my team conform our product to suit upcoming consumer trends, and improve our product in tangible ways. My internship ended with a final presentation to all executive leaders at Q2, including founder Hank Seale! 

This summer was my entry into the workforce and I am glad to say that any expectations that I had were exceeded. Not only was I able to grow as an industry professional, but also my work will bring beneficial change to my team. It is rewarding to know that all my hard work this summer will mean something in the future, and will be used in the long run.
