My Summer Internship Experience with Tenet Healthcare

This week I am wrapping up my strategic marketing summer internship with Tenet Healthcare .

I have learned so much throughout my internship from this company, my team, and the intern program. The intern program consisted of a speaker series, volunteer event, and social events on top of the work we each did in our respective departments.

This summer I got to work on a few key projects within the marketing department.

My main project allowed me to focus on the overall brand perception of Tenet’s hospitals in Metro Detroit. I pulled together insights from Google reviews, patient feedback surveys, and quarterly market research reports. Pulling data from these sources allowed me to look at how these hospitals are perceived both by people who have previously visited the hospital as well as those in the Detroit region who have not engaged with our brand. By gathering data from a variety of sources, I was able to inform messaging to drive positive perception in the market. Thank you to Ken Paylor Jr for guiding me in this work and allowing me to learn through this project. In addition, shoutout to Gwen Amador from MARC Research and Devin Shendell from Press Ganey for their support!

Beyond this project, I also got to lead the creation of a social media calendar with Cristin Trosien and Elise Jones ! These ladies have been so great to work with and totally put up with my constant questions along the way.

Finally, I got to attend one of our campaign photo shoots last week! My team did an incredible job planning and directing the shoot, and it was great getting to be there to support. It was a pleasure working with Sandra Lorenza Gomez for her incredible organization skills and for taking turns running up and down the hospital hallways all day with me.

Last but certainly not least, I’d like to extend a special thank you to Sherry McGirt , Bryant Boyle, and Olivia Nadler for having me on this team and every bit of support they were able to provide me along the way. I can’t wait to bring everything I’ve learned throughout this summer into my last semester of school and my future career.
