There is no doubt that?re:Invent 2021 is an extraordinary event this year. It’s the 15th anniversary for AWS, the 10th?re:Invent and the first re:Invent led by our new CEO Adam Selipky. As usual the keynote session today the 30th of November is full of new announcements and inspiring customer success stories like Nasdaq, Dish Network and 3M. A lot to cover, so I summarised it for myself and thought it's worth to share it.?But I can’t cover it all here so please refer to below resources?to learn more

Compute announcements??

1.?New AWS Graviton3 Processors :- The Graviton3 is going to deliver amazing performance. In comparison to the Graviton2, the Graviton3 will deliver up to 25% more compute performance and up to twice as much floating point & cryptographic performance.

2. Adding to the?currently offering of 475 different types of instances, from GPUs to Mac instances, AWS announced the Preview of Amazon EC2 C7g instances powered by the new Graviton3 processors.

3. Announcing preview of Amazon EC2 Trn1 instances?The second machine learning chip built by AWS that is optimized for high-performance deep learning training. Up to 800 Gbps of EFA networking throughput. Just WoooooW!!!.

4. AWS Outposts Servers in Two Form Factors 1U&2U powered by?AWS Nitro System?and with your choice of x86 or Arm/Graviton2 processors. Check this great video

Migration announcement

?AWS Mainframe Modernization?a new platform for mainframe migration and modernization to help customers migrate their mainframes to AWS and cut the migration time by 2/3. It has two options re-platforming or automated refactoring.

Connectivity announcemet ?

Announcing preview of AWS Private 5G :- New?managed service that helps enterprises set up and scale private 5G mobile networks in their facilities in days instead of months. AWS provide the hardware, software and SIMS. It operate in a shared spectrum with no per-device charges.

Data and analytics announcements

1. AWS Lake Formation –Cell-Level Security and Governed Tables. Including Governed table ,?storage optimization with automatic compaction and granular access control with row and cell-level security. This allow customers to restrict access to specific rows and columns . And automatically filter and reveal data only to authorized users.
2. Serverless and on-demand analytics ?Redshift Serverless, EMR Serverless, MSK serverless and Kinesis data streams on-demand.

?Machine learning

Looking forward for tomorrow ML keynote by Swami Sivasubramanian. But today we had a great announcement of Amazon SageMaker Canvas – a visual, no code Machine Learning capability for business analysts. You can run an entire ML workflow with a simple point and click user interface. Canvas generates accurate predications and allow customers to publish results and collaborate with others.

Industrial announcements

1. Goldman Sachs Financial Cloud for data :- Clients access the same financial data and analytics GS has buil and userd for decades.?Allow customers to discover, manage and analyze financial data in mintues and it’s intigreated with AWS data exchange.
2. AWS IoT TwinMaker (Preview), a service that makes it easier to build digital twins. It has pre-built connectors to data sources and automatically build knowledge graphs. The 3D visualizations is reflecting the operational state in real time. Check this video

3. AWS IoT FleetWise (Preview), a new service for transferring vehicle data to the cloud more efficiently. It perform diagnostics ,analyze fleet health and improve safety. Check this video
