My story of personal growth with West – from Germany

I started my career with West in 1987 with a six-week holiday job. At the end of the six weeks, I was offered a permanent job in production, which I accepted. At that time, West was not as big and successful as it is today. Over the years, West has grown into an increasingly successful business.??

Back then, my manager recognized that I am good at organizing and motivating people. I was encouraged to go to inspiring seminars, complete training courses and receive coaching. The trust I was given allowed me to develop and implement my own ideas. As a result, over the years, I was given more and more responsibility, for which I am very grateful.??

The encouragement and support I received has helped keep me at West for so many years. My current role is Manager, Production Plastics and I am still passionate about what we do, and I enjoy doing my work. The job itself, the interactions I have with my team members, the challenges we need to solve, are always exciting.??

What I love most about my job is that I can work with people to develop and implement things that allow us to contribute to West’s success story. The challenge I’ve enjoyed the most was leading the Stolberg plant’s “Investors in People” award from Standard in 2006 to achieve Platinum in 2021.?
