[My Story 1]

[My Story 1]

Well, this story will take time to complete. I know I have been told by many that I write A LOT! Well, consider it good or bad - it helps ME! And if it helps me, it will surely help you because I am at the stage of my career where I want to help: my team, my colleagues, my boss, my peers, my leadership, and my organization to uplift with what we envision - so I am going to write ALOT (sorry, haha) because its way for me to detail something that interests me. And I do not think my help will do it all, but that's the beauty of contributing individually at your best. I wanted to be a dancer, then a choreographer, and even a wild thought of pursuing directing a movie(& is still an interest) until my father decided for me - ENGINEERING - also in Electronics & Telecommunications. Who knew what that was (an 18-year-old boy thinking out loud)? I only considered it a societal validation, and that's ALL to it. I knew in my heart that I am a creative person, and this creativity has only evolved with time. Different ages and different interests, and I tried to be as creative as my mind could let me with age maturity. TRUST ME when I say - I had not even written a piece of code when I got my first job - and you know what, after so many years, I do come to realize that my then-manager who hired me did see something there - haha - well, I would like to believe that. So yeah, I did begin to code, where? Of course, a console - but that console was just how I saw things at the beginning of my career. I did not think more than what was given to me. It all went well until I got my first-ever project. It was not just technical requirements I had to look at, but I was also asked to design a solution mindfully. YEAH!! IT HIT ME HARD. But THANK GOD I had the best of seniors (indeed blessed me). They enabled me - and that's how I realized the importance of letting people know about your learning and enabling them. We don't need one TALENT - and you cannot be successful with just ONE Talent in this world. You need as many talents as possible to change - to innovate - to think and make society a better place. With this mindset, I never felt insecure about sharing what I know in my career. Maybe now it makes sense to you why I am sharing these random facts and calling it my story, haha - well, that's how it works - you share your personal journey, which becomes unique based on your perspective, but it remains a shared journey - 'because you are not alone in this.' If nothing else, it only helped me to keep moving on to different stuff - I remember when I got to know about the APIs - API integration was my thing for some time until I showed how it's done to my peers who did not know about it and with an idea of the same value that they need to share when you share you know better. Coming back to my first-ever project, well, to say the least - that's where my journey to understand "why are we doing what we are doing began" - I NEVER LOOKED BACK - people who can relate to this will know what level of potential this mindset has to create - your curiosity to get to the end will give you enough guidance to know everything in various step of the process. I feel happy now to be able to tap into different things while being in the core Engineering team. Anyway, writing this on the weekend is not just my attempt to try something new but also to have a little insightful impact, which hopefully begins a thought for whoever thinks about this post with the "Why are we doing what we are doing?" question, we should also start to think, "WHY ARE WE HERE?" & Think of it in all contexts - you can think of that question while scrolling and reading some insightful post like this, following some trend of X (that tweeted in the past), mindlessly scrolling on Instagram, OR working on your solution to any problem. You will be surprised to hear some OUTSTANDING answers from people in the context of their JOB.

My answer: I am here to be creative, bring ideas that have evolved from what exists and help to make something new that never existed. The professional values that don't just talk about how you conduct yourself while collaborating with anyone you meet at work, but establish a culture around you that helps people around you - everyone who is higher up - or lower to you - they are all AROUND YOU. And while you're at it, be humble.

Now I will go back to listening to "Lights Are On - by Tom Rosenthal". Happy Weekend.

Great post, Pawan! Your talent, commitment, and skills are best-in-class. You have helped me out on critical functionality no matter the time of day. I took the techie path too and it has been rewarding in many ways. However, I continue to pursue my love of playing music (piano, guitar, upright bass, even banjo!). Keep going and I look forward to seeing you as Director on a major film release one of these days!
