MY SHORT STORY AND VISION
My name is Judith kwamboka
I am professionally associated in the entertainment industry focusing on the music sector. My career mainly as an event planner and facilitator doubling as a trained Disk jockey going by the stage name DJ BUNNEY 254
Starting out as a DJ jokey I have harnessed the skills and experience to be able to handle crowds and provide the necessary entertainment that keeps them engaged and happily satisfied as a reveler.
Revelers have evolved through the years and my experience which dates back to a decade ago, has enabled me to adapt and evolve with the industry to a position where I can comfortably predict where it’s going and find avenues where positioning yourself will result in not only subscriptions to the content but also monetarily advancement.
My journey started in 2017 where I had to navigate the very versatile industry with only the bare equipment, meaning hunger for knowledge of the software is the only thing I had. With time I was able to position myself to perform at gigs and was able to save and get my own equipment which helped me practise.
One of my earlier proud achievements is working for a foreign station while I was still living in Kenya {SKY 102.1 FM }. The station needed a Dj with experience with east African music and naturally I gave it my all and stood out from the others. They commissioned me to produce a top 25 list chart of songs from the east African region. Doing this granted me experience unmatched to anything else. I had and ended up learning how to independently produce shows for radio, how to work with people miles away. The research I did for that show enabled me to categorically be able to know exactly what the fans wanted and how I needed to present it to them. These same values have made my content attractive to my listeners, turning them loyal fans as soon as they hear my listen or watch my content.
After a fruitful working relationship with the station, after a while they decided to go to a different direction with their programming and we amicably parted ways. I decided to use what I learned from the experience to go independent and produce my own content and deliver them online as an independent entertainer and content creator.
Before I could do this however I had to obtain the right equipment given the complexity of this I took it upon myself to participate in road shows and events as an official DJ. Conventional events like weddings and family gatherings were strong grounds for me to not only gain finances but also gain that public one on one relationship a DJ should have.In 2020 when covid 19 started ,i took online and made online shows and posted short videos of me either dancing or deejaying and some of them trended. This was a step for me and through my fans and those shows have managed to buy my own equipment for the live shows.
As of now the channel I created on YouTube has garnered 21.5k subscribers who enjoy and frequent my channel every time I post new content. The support from them has been overwhelming and has propelled me to another level as an entertainer. This I feel extremely proud and deserved because of the hard work I have been putting in all these years.
Personally looking back at my life, my humble beginnings and my rise to the favorable position I am in now, community has been my biggest support and I plan to show my appreciation by giving back in a major way.
Recently I have found interest in the elderly and the depressed. My proclivity to their plight has made me tour old people’s homes and meeting them personally and assist in making their day better by providing necessities and also entertaining them. Doing this has given me strength to know my expertise can also bring a smile to someone’s face especially when they are used to a certain degree of unhappiness due to neglect, loneliness and staring death in front of them.
My second and most proud achievement and the one I am planning to pursue religiously is to give opportunity for women and the youth to learn my craft and bable to sustain themselves in this harsh economic environment. Our industry has a lot to offer in terms of financial betterment by offering value added services like, providing sound equipment, catering, event planning and design.
By teaching young girls and women to participate, I am able to influence them away from harmful activities like drug use and early teenage pregnancies.
I also realized I have a great influence on lots of young people looking up to me for guidance and help in their achievements.Being ambitious I would love to influence them in positive ways to better themselves.
There is a lot more to be done including educating our communities about autism and so many more which i can not finish alone.
Am therefore putting this out here for well wishers who are willing to work with me in achieving most of the goals above.
Regards
