My Review of "If Your Water Cooler Could Talk"?

My Review of "If Your Water Cooler Could Talk"

I just finished reading Dr. Jim Bohn's latest book "If Your Water Cooler Could Talk" and loved it so much I'm going to use it in my own Leadership Coaching practice!

In his book, Jim a true "Blue-Collar Scholar", weaves theory with a practical how-to approach on how to move from Employee Engagement “me” to Organizational Engagement “we”. Organizational Engagement (OE) is the level of motivation activated by employee perceptions of their organization’s ability to achieve outcomes…

Enter the water cooler – the place where what’s really going on in an organization is debated and discussed by employees. It’s the place where employees speak about and share their assessment of the organization’s capacity for success. According to Jim:

OE gets to the heart of what people are talking about at your water coolers right now and provides a path for dramatic organizational transformation.

Through his own experience and research, Jim has created the data-driven Bohn Organizational Engagement Scale (BOES) that turns that untapped water cooler data into data that leaders can use to transform their organization. The BOES provides data on six elements of OE that enables organizations to align their leadership team efforts and points to key transformational opportunities to improve organizational performance and business results. To find out about the six elements of OE, you’ll have to read this excellent, practical and thought-provoking book!"
