Everyone must understand that the ‘Reservation’ we are talking about is actually a ‘Representation’?, a correct word. Globally it’s called positive affirmation. Most developed countries like USA, Australia, UK, Germany everyone is having positive affirmation programs for socially marginalized sections. So in India also we have a positive affirmation scheme under the constitution since 1950 as a representation of SC and ST community based on caste. Please read and note also that the purpose of the representation was and is not the ‘GARIBI HHATAV’, the main purpose was to give equal representation to the socially marginalized section due to the caste system in India which has been there since 5000 yrs. Just because someone was born in some caste you can’t discriminate against him/her. Incidences of Caste discriminations are still prevalent in today’s India. We just need to have eyes open without jeopardising the mind and inner soul.?
Now coming back to representation, the main purpose was to give equal representation as it was denied purposely for thousands of years. Along with social discrimination the economical freedom was also denied inspite??of having capabilities of these sections which results in a forceful downgrading of a certain section of the society not only socially but also economically. So these deprivations have a definitive effect on the wealth of these communities. So now to live in civilised society the equal opportunities are planned and created based on representation.?
So now foul play by so called half knowledge people about the merits of SC and ST people is that merit is getting killed in India , brain drain etc etc. With this logic , India might be the best nation and topper everywhere in all segments prior to 1950 . But that’s not the case. Students in pvt colleges get admission at lesser marks than the SC /ST students. Now coming back to merit of SC/ST, they are given the entry to any course based on the fixed predefined criteria e.g to get admission to medical college in NEET exam criteria is to get 50% marks so anyone who can get 50% marks in NEET is eligible for admission ( 51% - 100% all are qualified ) however once you get admission; the exams papers, passing criteria everything is same for open and SC/ST category so no need of foul play killing of merits and brain drain.?
Coming back to one family one reservation, basically reservations ( representation) is for social upliftment and not for economical upliftment. For economically backward class these are another reservation and benefits which any class can get.??After 75 yrs of independence SC/ST/OBCs are still discriminated daily just based on caste ( hope you guys read news papers/social media/ electronic media) e.g a youth has been killed in Rajasthan for keeping a mustache. You need to be a tough human to understand the pain and feelings of discrimination. The stigma is of discrimination is not that easy to forget or move on .??
To update your knowledge I would like to update few points
a. In India representation is in three sectors , political , education and services . All these are only applicable in the government sector and private sectors are free from it. South Africa is having representation in SPORTS too that's why we see AFRICAN players in their team.?

b. Only Political representation was of initially for 10 yrs and it was mentioned in the constitution that every ten years there will be review and decision can be taken on continuity so since independence the every ten years decision to continue the political representation has been taken including MODI govt?
c. Representation in India is based on the CASTE system and not on religions. e.g some communities from Muslim falls under SC or OBCs OR majoriy of the STs from south regions are Christians?
d. For minority religions ; Muslims, Jains, Sikhs Christchians Buddhist different positive affirmative schemes are there
f. MINORITY doesn’t mean ONLY MUSLIMS?
d. In India you are allowed or free to change religion / faith but there is no way the caste can be changed.?
f . Initially economical representation was denied because financial conditions can be changed with generations, so difficult to established EWS e.g ANIL AMBANI now a poor man and his kids can get EWS benefits but this govt put up EWS SINCE LAST 5 years. Different topic of debate
g. Representation can’t be more than 50% in any caste even though SC/ST/ OBC population of India is around 85%?
h. In India 50% representation started by Chhatrapati Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj ( Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's Descendent ) in 1902 in his princely state KOLHAPUR to the socially marginalised section and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar was one of the beneficiaries of it.?
I am not against any community or people or person but we just need to be more empathetic and more human to understand these issues.?

6 个月Completely disagree, your argument is devoid of fact but full of bias & emotions. Creamy layers exclusion & one reservation opportunity per family must. No wonder why the medical profession is the 3rd most corrupt profession in India

2 年Well-said, In the caste based society ,reservation is an opportunity for the marginalized classes to assert and voice out their opinions
