My reflections on INTERPOL's Centenary General Assembly and Brazil's Vision for INTERPOL
As we embrace the echoes of INTERPOL's centenary celebration during the recent General Assembly session in Vienna, Austria, I am compelled to reflect on the incredible journey we have traversed together and look forward to the path that lies ahead.
Vienna, the heart of Europe, served as the perfect backdrop for INTERPOL's Centenary General Assembly. The grandeur of the event was not merely in the festivities, but in the collective acknowledgment of a century dedicated to fostering international cooperation in the fight against transnational crime. It was a moment to celebrate our shared successes, recognize the challenges we face, and renew our commitment to the ideals that have guided us since the organization's inception.
As we convened in Vienna, the air was thick with history, and the halls echoed with the voices of those who have tirelessly worked to make the world a safer place. The General Assembly provided a platform for members to exchange insights, share best practices, and reaffirm our dedication to the principles of justice, security, and collaboration.
Amidst the grandeur of the Centenary General Assembly, Brazil stood as a testament to the diversity and strength that INTERPOL represents. Brazil has been an active and engaged member, contributing significantly to the organization's efforts to combat global crime. As we move forward, it is time for Brazil to take on a more prominent role within INTERPOL, as we aim to become the first South American country to lead this esteemed organization.
The year 2024 holds immense significance for Brazil and for me personally. It marks the opportunity for our great nation to put forth its candidacy for the Secretary General position, a role that demands a leader with a global vision, unwavering dedication, and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by the international law enforcement community.
Brazil's candidacy is not merely about breaking geographical barriers; it is about bringing a fresh perspective to the helm of INTERPOL. Our commitment to the organization's core values, combined with our unique experiences in tackling diverse forms of crime, positions Brazil as a formidable candidate to lead INTERPOL into its next century.
As a candidate, I firmly believe in the power of inclusivity and collaboration. Brazil, with its rich cultural tapestry and vast experience in dealing with a variety of transnational crimes, is well-poised to steer INTERPOL towards greater effectiveness and innovation.
1.????? Diversity and Inclusivity: Brazil's leadership would inject a new dimension of diversity into the decision-making processes of INTERPOL. Our unique perspective, shaped by the amalgamation of various cultures, will contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of global challenges.
2.????? Experience in Combating Transnational Crime: Brazil has been at the forefront of combating diverse forms of transnational crime, from drug trafficking to cybercrime. Our experiences provide us with insights that can be instrumental in developing strategies to address the ever-evolving landscape of international crime.
3.????? Capacity Building and Training: Brazil is committed to fostering capacity building and training programs within INTERPOL. We believe that equipping our member countries with the necessary tools and knowledge is crucial for building a robust global defense against crime.

4.????? Innovation and Technology: As we look ahead, Brazil recognizes the importance of embracing technology and innovation in the fight against crime. We will advocate for the integration of cutting-edge technologies within INTERPOL to enhance our capabilities in tackling emerging threats.
5.????? Global Partnerships: Brazil is committed to forging and strengthening partnerships with nations across the globe. In an interconnected world, collaboration is paramount, and we aim to build bridges that transcend borders and unite us in our common pursuit of justice.
As we reflect on the Centenary General Assembly and anticipate the challenges that lie ahead, Brazil envisions a future where INTERPOL continues to evolve, adapt, and lead in the fight against transnational crime. The time has come for a South American nation to take the reins, and Brazil stands ready to assume the mantle of leadership.
I am honored to be a part of this transformative moment in INTERPOL's history and humbly present myself as a candidate for the position of Secretary General in 2024. Together, let us forge a path towards a safer, more secure world, where justice knows no borders.
