Third grade students attended an educational concert at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra ?? ! Not only did our students see an amazing concert, but they also heard original works from Detroit composers. In addition to the music students, learned about how the auto industry influenced southeastern Michigan, how the Great Migration and Civil Rights Movement affected Detroit, and saw original artwork from students portraying the future of Detroit! #WorldClassWildcats

Here is the scoop at Oxford High School! ?? Students in the Digital Creations II embarked on a food photography assignment. Students crafted faux ice cream masterpieces and began their culinary photography journey. These artist carefully considered angles and lighting to embrace the art of food photography. #WorldclassWildcats #CTE

Congratulations to Oxford High School's Teacher of the Year, Dan Miller! ?? ?? One student shared, "Often we leave class stuck on a problem and he's come back the next day eager to share a solution. This encourages me to act with the same persistence in my work, something that will also benefit me greatly in math or any other future discipline. Mr. Miller is genuinely a great person. He never starts class before checking in with us to make sure we're doing well; it means the world to us." A colleague shared, "Dan is humble and knows that he always has more to learn. He has demonstrated this by getting his Master's degree in Educational Leadership and is an aspiring principal. He leads clubs and organizations at OHS with the most prominent club being Math Honor Society. On the classroom front, Dan leads by example. He runs his classroom with integrity, which in turn helps students reach their highest potential and find success in and beyond the classroom. Dan Miller is always on his game and his work ethic shines through at all times." Congratulations Dan! As we shared earlier this year, Oxford High School senior, Sean Wilson was named a semifinalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program. We have a FANTASTIC update! Sean has been declared a finalist! ?? Selection of the 7,140 National Merit Scholarship winners is now underway. Once again, congratulations Sean! ?? #WorldclassWildcats

Our hearts are full after an incredibly inspirational and emotional day at Oxford Elementary! ?? When Mrs. Bartlo was diagnosed with cancer recently, OE rallied together to show their love and support. OE decided to organize the "Hair Off for Humble Design" fundraiser benefiting Humble Design in Mrs. Bartlo's honor. Student took action and donated all week long! They crushed their goal of $1,000 and raised $1,548 ?? ! Mr. Brown, Mrs. Shafer, and Mr. Ryan (FORTIS Group) shaved their heads in front of the entire student body. The display of compassion and solidarity was beautiful. Mrs. Bartlo was even able to FaceTime in, to watch the assembly and say hello to everyone! Thank you to all who donated to this meaningful event! ?? #WorldclassWildcats
