On my recent paper

My paper, Small Cultural Organizations and Board Oversight, reported three findings. From survey comments it was clear board members were interested in doing a good job but their responses showed clear themes.

Survey responses showed several organizations did not have strong financial policies and procedures, boards were populated by people who were often friends, and boards did not engage in board training.
