My Rebuttal To Chronicle Endorsement of Opposition
Paul Reinhardt
Candidate Florida State House of Representatives District 34, Republican
I want a state government as good as its people. I have not taken the party line. I am supported by Republicans, Democrats, and NPA’s. I have taken care of people my whole life now it’s time to serve the 34th District.
My opponent was never elected by voters so he cannot be "re-elected". The "super" majority of his bills died.
I am opposed to arsenic laden toxic sludge being brought to Citrus County. It’s Toxic.
We must stop pollution of our groundwater aquafir through extensive mining of limestone. I support better mining regulation.
My platform is not limited to better pay for teachers. We cannot have adequate technical education when funding to WTC is cut. I advocate raising funds through a Technical Education License Plate. I want to have tax free bonds issued for technical education at our technical and community colleges.
We need "Bridge" programs between WTC and CF. Students can migrate between both institutions and be issued an Associate in Occupational Studies diploma. My father graduated Bronx Vocational High School. There is no reason why we cannot open more of such schools in Florida. Funding, again, through tax free bonds.
I offered specifics of how our federally qualified health centers can offer more access to more patients through offering expanded services by cutting manpower costs by requiring Florida's medical graduates serve a year of public service helping to staff such clinics already paid for by the U.S. Public Health Service.
As a missionary doctor serving Haiti and Mexico I realize the importance of primary care to a patient, especially the uninsured or underinsured. I do not regret not being the wealthiest man in the legislature. I give my time (the most precious resource) to mankind. For a comparison of the candidates google the article in the Hernando News of The Tampa Bay Times dated October 3, 2018 titled "A millionaire and a missionary : Two doctors vie for state House seat” by Justin Trombly.
Here is the current list of endorsements and responses for my campaign:

3. Participated and Responded to Florida Conference on Catholic Bishops Candidate Questionnaire Project.

5. Endorsed by The Democratic Environmental Caucus of Florida due to my commitment to Preserve, Protect and Enhance Florida's Natural Environment.
6. Signed on to Bullsugar.org. I refuse lobbying money from the Big Sugar Lobby for Florida's Sugar Industry due to the consequences on our environment particularly damage to the Everglades Agricultural Area and Lake Okeechobee discharges that trigger toxic algae blooms.
7. Signed Open Government Pledge of the First Amendment Foundation and The Brechner Center for Freedom of Information of the University of Florida, School of Journalism for my support of open and transparent government that is essential to our democracy. This ensures our constitutional and statutory guarantees of access to government records and meetings. I will promote compliance with open government laws.
Ronald Reagan said “If you can agree with me 80% of the time, you’re my friend” My viewpoints and endorsements reflect the majority of constituents of the 34th District.
