I hope you are doing well and you are safe and healthy.

During the last few months I spoke to a lot of friends, customers and clients about their dream homes. Most of the time I hear they can not find exactly what they are looking for. Sometimes it is just the combination of flooring and wall colors, sometimes it is the floor plan or location which doesn't meet their expectations. I am not surprised about that. Since the available homes are designed by somebody other than you, and the fact that taste varies from person to person, makes it difficult to find the exact home you have in mind. As a Realtor I would tell my clients, that if they are willing to compromise, we will come very close to their ideal home.

What happens if compromise is not an option and time is not a factor ?

As someone who had builders built all the homes for me, I would always suggest the option to have a home build. That gives you the opportunity to let your own taste decide on all the design and structural features.

During my conversations with my clients, the home build experience seems more like a hassle, than fun, for some families. It doesn't have to be an inconvenience if you know the process and if you have the right support.

Next week I am going to explain the process and hopefully, that will take away some of the fear.
