My Q1 Creative Report
1. The idea
At the start of this year, I was keen to run a creative workshop, I wanted to create a format and space for Making.
2. Learning, doing, learning, doing
After many hours of online tutorials, it was time to test them IRL as well as create teaching materials.
3. Sewing machines and their stories!
Participant and contributor Asnat has restored over 60 vintage machines! We had the pleasure of having a few of them at the workshop and hearing their incredible stories.
4. Immersed in "slow" making
We enjoyed the slow and steady process of sewing with the hand-crank machines. Given that we were upcycling men's shirts sourced from local charity shops, they made for a good tool for our slow fashion.
5. Sharing and celebrating project completion ??
The smiles say it all!
Walking out with something you want to wear and show off, what could be better than that?

8 个月wonderful! Slow Making. Yes please.
The workshop looks sound Mainda. Wish I was in Cambridge. In Derby I go to a Abi Wastie Monday-evening sewing club - 'like fight club but sewing'. Once a month I force myself out of the house and make the move to alter or sew my own clobber, and like you say in post, clothes making/upcycling,it is a solid buzz.
