Not my Purpose
Not my purpose
My dad's dream was to become a fighter pilot. At least, that is what I can remember.
We went to air shows together from a young age to see F16's dominating the skies.
I liked F16 fighter jets and the technology behind them—the roars.
In my final year of the Atheneum (high school), I applied to the Royal Netherlands Air Force to become an F16 pilot.
After I graduated, I rolled into the selection procedure.
The selection procedure was very intensive, and although I did pretty OK, I didn't make it through.
Disappointed I left the base.
But the strange part was that I was not disappointed about not becoming a fighter pilot but had to tell my dad the bad news.
On my way home, I realized that I "kind of wanted" to become a fighter pilot, but because it wasn't MY PURPOSE, but my dad's, I didn't give it all…
I didn't prepare enough or train enough, but mostly I didn't want it enough.

Washing, Cutting and Shaving
This is no barbershop terminology, but Washing, Cutting, and Shaving (or Wassen, Knippen en Scheren in Dutch) is sometimes used at Brookline | Home of Funsports .
So what does it mean?
If you have left a person, a situation, or a thing simmering for too long, in many cases, this goes in the wrong direction. If problems start piling up (or your hair has grown too long ??), it is time to deal with this thoroughly or to Wash, Cut and Shave somebody.
I would love to know which terminology YOU use that nobody outside your organization understands—DM or Comment below your great examples.

Speed is everything
I’d rather choose speed over perfection.
Whatever we design or implement at Brookline | Home of Funsports , as soon as this thing meets our baseline, we ship.
We’ll improve later as we get to test it in the real world instead of our minds.
?
Have a wonderful weekend in advance.
Yours sincerely,
Bas
