My Preliminary take on Oracle's release 13

My preliminary take on Oracle's release 13 :

1) Notes and feedback on Talent management is old hat. There maybe incremental functionality. Learning management features are all ported from OLM , which means Oracle Taleo Learn is more or less portable for OLM customers .

2)  The data visualization and dashboards ( in nascent but embedded analytic form) can be a challenge to other BI tools. However I wonder if there will be a cost difference to enable this ( there is a massive cost difference if you want enterprise OTBI reports vis a vis the seeded reports).

3)  Position hierarchy is a welcome relief – especially if you want to run SCM along with HCM. This can be a consulting opportunity.

4)  UX – nice to have feature but I was able to implement this at sufficiently even on Release 10.

Note : UX consulting will be a standout service. The amazing

UX changes was what finally won the skeptic users over. on my Cloud implementations. Great consulting gap but only if HR and IT lets its consultants get to it.

5)  CSR – is useful for benefits module . I had the exact same requirement while implementing EBS, where volunteers got all kinds of benefits for volunteering.

A.I – is something we need to keep a track on. Predictive analytics and social engagement is what I expect from this base.

7)  HCM Social – most powerful and underutilized part of Cloud HCM. Great consulting gap here but only if HR and IT lets its consultants get to it. See my earlier post on it.

I'd really like to see how easy it is to move configuration packages from one instance to another - this is a significant cost of the project.

Interesting to see that SaaS and PaaS revenues have grown up faster than IaaS.
