MY PMI-PMP success StOrY!

Greetings to all and trust everything is good at your end…

I wanted to share my experience on how I achieved PMP certification believing it might motivate, inspire or guide any one of you. Kindly request to follow the PMI standard rather than the practical experience knowledge you gained when approaching to PMP exam preparation. Because you will find mostly all the topics that you are going to read or understand might have come across your working life but while answering or choosing the right answer you must follow the PMI standards which may or may not match to your practical experience. You will understand the above statement and agree with me once you complete your 35 hours training.

My PMP journey begin back on 2018 with Abu Bakar training where I got my 35 PDU’s. Personal and work schedule reasons didn’t allow me to prepare for the exam and it got delayed till 2022.

First attempt on 01 Dec 2022 and the result was FAIL. Actual result and lesson learned from this attempt was “Fail fast to learn more and better”. The failure reason I felt was I took it light and less preparation. I started my preparation from OCT 22 and literally from the scratch- the study material used was RitaMulcahy’s Tenth edition and mockup questions related to traditional approach only.? End of EPISODE-1.

EPISODE -2 ( recommended):Let me start with this, if you wanna achieve something, work hard and build it yourself & more likely you are to actually gonna enjoy and value it. Believe me since I experienced; the end result is more than sweet.

Second attempt was on 26 Jan 23- PASS. PMP exam is not very difficult so it’s easily possible depending on the effort and consistency you invest. First and foremost you must have a strict schedule; let’s say in 2 months from now, i.e. April 5th 2023, exam is scheduled and same information to be shared with your family to gain their understanding and cooperation to ensure that they value your PMP time.

Secondly follow below steps;

b.?????You must watch these 2 videos by Ricardo Viana Vargas, Ph.D.

c.??????Read PMBOK 6 (including AGILE PRACTICE GUIDE) & PMBOK 7 – If followed step a & b the time consumed in completing this book will be quicker than expected. ( Intention is not only to pass the exam but to be an expert in PM if I may take PMI words “ to become a better PM” , Reading once will be more than enough)

d.?????Perform PMP Exam Mock Simulator- where you become familiar with question format, wording and sample content, how to read a question which makes easier to choose the right answer. If you have PMI membership get access to free PMI? Authorized Online PMP? Practice Exam of 260 questions. Also I recommend Nilotpal Ray, PMP?, PRINCE2 Practitioner? ?exam simulator

By following all the above steps, i ensured that i gained the right mindset to approach the PMP exam.
