My Plea to LinkedIn to Restore My Post

On November 2, 2021 I posted this meme to LinkedIn:

Someone complained to LinkedIn, and I received this message:

When I clicked on "Learn More" LinkedIn said my post violated their community agreement against harassing and bullying.

I contacted LinkedIn support to request they take a second look at my content, and this is what I said:

"My post "Republicans are not afraid of critical race theory. They don't even know what that is. They are afraid of theories critical of racists. They know who they are." is not bullying or harassing. It is a statement of fact. Republicans are the ones who are bullying and harassing, including by asking Linked In to take my post down.?

It is a statement of fact that Republicans don't know what critical race theory is. Please point to one Republican accurately explaining critical race theory and who its leading scholars and tenets are. You can't because there are none.?

Republicans are protesting against Critical Race Theory at public school board meetings and bullying and harassing School Board members, to the point that School Board members are resigning. But Republicans are wrong on the facts. Public K-12 schools governed by School Boards?are not teaching Critical Race Theory, a field of legal scholarship taught in law schools and universities. Public K-12 schools governed by School Boards are starting to teach about racism, what it is, how racism has shaped US history, and how white people have benefitted from and perpetuated racism. Republicans are mad about it because for a hundred years, racists, including the KKK and the United Daughters of the Confederacy, have worked arduously to ensure racism is taught in public schools, and now their children are learning the truth, and starting to question what their parents are teaching them.

It is also not bullying or harassing and is a statement of fact that Republicans "are afraid of theories critical of racists. They know who they are."

Since Richard Nixon created the Southern Strategy to build white racial grievance, Republicans have campaigned on racism, stoking white people's racial anxieties to drive us to the polls, in every election: "law and order" "welfare queens" Willie Horton, "they're bringing rapists and I am sure that some of them are very fine people" etc. This is how Republicans maintain their grip on power.?Republicans are afraid of theories critical of racists because if white people learn to see through their lies, they will not support Republicans any more.?

Racism is bullying and harassing. Removing my post is bullying and harassing me. It is silencing me for holding Republicans to account for their racism.?

If Republicans believe so strongly that what they are doing is right and I am wrong, they can come right out and say it. I am not going to ask you to remove their post.?I will debate them as equals. But to silence me is to dominate, harass and bully me, and violates LinkedIn's community agreement.

Antiracism is not bullying and harassing. Antiracism is the belief in the inherent humanity and equality of all people, the knowledge that race does not exist, it is a social construct, and that no racialized group has the inherent right to dominate any other group, we are all equals."?

Good post Karen. From my perspective, it is not just Republicans who are balking at CRT. I think when we attach political affiliations to many social issues, we deflect from the grass root supporters of these doctrines. I know without a doubt, that racists are rampant in the democratic party as well as republican. Both have had time in leading this country and issues relating to race remain almost unchanged with a new policy here or there. LI should not have taken this down. This political back and forth goes on all the time. I think your messaging is on point, but misleading to only point out republican resistance. It is as you said, "racist people dont want CRT taught in schools." And, for different reasons, nor do I in K-12. There are other things that can be taught to help children to understand their responsibility to humanity from K that progresses to 12. We have to value childhood in a way that let's them be children. If anything, parents who perpetuate and promote racism should be taught CRT. But, then, I dont think they really care.
