My Personal Story about Losing Sight (Presbyopia) yet gaining Wisdom!!

The fear of getting Presbyopia was one that I often thought that it may happen yet I would well into my 60's before it hit me.  Boy was I wrong!!  I want to share my personal story with you all as some things like this does not happen in the blink of an eye.  Over the past several years, I have been losing my ability to see up close yet did not comprehend that it was happening whereas it is a gradual process that I have never experienced before.   I realize that this a very natural part of aging (yet my mind still says I'm 20).  What I learned was the less I could see the more I could connect the dots of life and particularly business (which is detailed below).

Early on though, I was just having problems reading my computer screen, typically in the mornings.  I would get a cup of joe in me and I was fine in 20 minutes.  Six months later and still masked in the problem, I thought it was my damn computer screen and purchased a new computer with better resolution which helped me for another year to live in a denial of losing  my vision.  My vision challenge only increased my distraction and blindly guided me into the abyss of wasted time on activities that did not pertain to writing.

Without writing I was at a loss and became depressed.  I was gravely wrong to hide from my loss of vision as I needed to write now more than ever!!

During this same time, I began WorkLiv International (www.WorkLiv.com) to improve the retention issues facing Corporations World Wide.  Fortunately, I was working with many Start-Up Consultants and I ended up teaching them on a white board about Dr. Deming's Total Quality Management (TQM) System, retention, Millennials, productivity, quality, safety, engagement, loyalty, etc.   although I had Presbyopia and was having problems reading it opened up my ability to see what I had not been able to see before.  I was able to begin putting the dots together as how an Employee's Credit Score, Body Mass Index, E-Mod, and other process patent factors needed to understand their underlining Risk factors for the Employer.

This ability to communicate verbally and on a white board (big LETTERS) opened me up to some of what I believe are truly revolutionary and progressive process improvements within Organizational Development, Business, Retention Crisis, Quality, Productivity, Safety and the whole behavioral aspect of Employees.

So as I write this with my newly purchased glasses, my epiphany to Corporations is that you don't need to lose your Vision rather learn from me.   As retention rates are at a historic low dropping to 3-5 years versus 20+ years.  If you can not see it don't be DISTRACTED.....rather let me know at [email protected] or at WorkLiv.com will work together to help retain your Corporate Mission and your Employees!!

Pay close attention Organizations of all Sizes whereas it's costing your Organization 50% of your employee's annual salary to replace them for a non-managerial position and 100% annual salary for a manager, and 150% for a C-Level position and I haven't even began to look at losses from Quality, Safety, nor Production.  The Tsunami is here!!

Lastly, the image on this article is also a teaser for WorkLiv's first daughter Company which is WorkLiv Steam Clean.......more to follow about this exciting Company!!
