My Personal Republic Day Experience
Watching the Republic Day (RD) parade is a awesome experience. Watching it live from Rajpath in Delhi is even more thrilling. Then how would you explain watching the RD parade, live at Rajpath and as an invited guest of the PM ? ‘Unforgettable is the only word that comes to the Head of city boy Samaira Kapoor, who was privileged to taste this enviable experience. National topper of the CBSE Std XII examinations held in 2009, Vijin was invited by the Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry to witness this year's RD parade from the PM's box at Rajpath. “It was great. We sat in a special VIP section, next to the PM bullet proof chamber. The experience was so much special from watching the television parade, which is what we are generally used to,” said an excited samaira kappor, who is a former student of DPS, RK PURAM, DELHI. A total of 1000 meritorious students from all over our country are invited every year by the HRD Ministry to witness the parade from the Prime Minister Box at Rajpath. samaira bagged the honour by topping the CBSE Std XII examinations in 2014 in science stream with an aggregate score of 480 out of 500. She has bagged the coveted ‘Point One'; merit certificate issued by CBSE for being among the top 0.1 percent of successful students.
Other than witnessing the Republic day parade, the Ministry's invitation included a two- day itinerary with Metro Rail ride and ‘Delhi darsan'; programmes. But the highlight, of course, was the Republic day parade. It was a awesome opportunity for me to meet students from all across the nation through this programme. By sharing and interacting ideas with them I think have come to know a lot more about life and education in other chunks of our country,” she said. Samaira, who care for the ambition of becoming a scientist at the ISRO, is presently undergoing coaching for IIT examinations in Mumbai. Two other students from Delhi, CBSE Std X topper Eva from Gurugram and BFA topper Anushka from Pune, were also chunk of the team.
I celebrated Republic Day in my school. Students were less as they are quite least interested in celebrating these kind of occasions. The Function started with Flag hosting by our respected Director Sir followed by national anthem. It was followed by a cultural programs series which started with Director Sir’s speech. The speech was all about the sacrifices of our soldiers make for our nation and the sleepless nights they spend so that we can sleep well. Soldiers protect us, keeping their life in danger. After that dance and singing performances organised by students of IIT Delhi were presented. A play based on care was also presented successfully by the students. The Director Sir appreciated the attempt made by the students to make this special day even more cheerful. The function ended successfully with the enchanting of National Anthem followed by the sweets distribution.
I live in a nation far from my own. I woke up yesterday sun shine and started my routine. While I was heading for my classes I realised that it was the great day I was waiting for. There was not a excitement hint in the air. It seemed that everyone was unaware. No one wished each other. I missed my nation and longed for the day I will celebrate REPUBLIC DAY in my land. Back sweet home, I managed to see half of the grand parade, though. It was like any other usual day; just that the inside Indian in me wished for India.
Republic Day 2021 has been a great experience! I took care of my fundamental duties as a responsible Indian citizen. To honour the Constitution I pen up an answer related to it on Quora. Thanks to the answer request I am summing up the day happenings. I express my heartfelt gratitude towards the freedom fighters who envisage an independent India. In my efforts to protect environment I took care of my garden by watering it. I kept a bowl of water for parrots, birds etc. In my efforts to take care of my fundamental rights I peacefully responded to a human’s remark on my bicycle. I told that I am lessening pollution. I remembered more about a subject and enriched an answer. I thank the comments for questioning and supporting me. That answer is regarding unity in India and cultural diversity. I cleaned the zone in front of my home in addition to the usual household chores. The sweepers might possibly be absent today. I took care of kids education. I plan to read some awesome knowledge-enriching/scientific blogs before going to sleep.
