My Personal 360 !!!
Colonel Harendra Bana
Retired- (Army Veteran + PepsiCo South Asia CSO); Now- World Traveller; Writer and Wonderful Dreamer
Most MNC go thru fanciful HR driven evaluation- 360/ 180/ Raven and I did wonder if I could make my personal 360 to see what life had delivered in my 30+ year work experience and what the next 30+ retirement years had in store. The insights gave me some real-time learnings helping focus for my retired life when the pace will slow down; work friends will fade away, baring a few time tested ones and only a matter of time when the vegetative state would set-in if planning was not done well in time.?
I created several models and finally arrived at the four decks for my 360 which are- Professional / Personal / Financial / Miscellaneous.?
Professional- The first 30 gave me the insights on what I had achieved, what was well done however the next 30 was the real challenge to see where I would like to invest my time to make my life well worth in the sunset years. I found my retirement CSR in becoming a corporate teacher to mentor the next gen in their formative years to be successful leaders- minus all commercial gains.?
Personal- It did help me understand what we as a family had achieved collectively but the next 30 are what is going to keep me and my wife chilled out; what we must do to retain our zing as we age gracefully- well the big answer was to step out of Netflix zone and be a real time traveler not tied to the idiot box.?
Financial- Well what did I earn, what did I create and how is the wealth going to keep our zing alive in our sunset days. The pace of our work life leaves us with little time to plan our R and we feel it won’t ever arrive; well I figured out what my corpus on my final R day would look like and how I need to use it to make my R a cakewalk.?
Miscellaneous- Jot your notes on what you achieved in your bucket list if you have one, just about anything - mine had a sky-dive to do on it and many more items ahead as R is the time when we will have both time and wealth to make the most of this wonderful sunset years. Bali- here I come !!!?
Well I used 30-30 break up as my formula and the details above are just a snapshot; suit what works for you and do remember planning is the key to your happy life; do plan and remember Zindagi na Milegi Dubara. In case you need any guidance happy to step in, connect with me.?
