My PepsiCo Intern Update

My PepsiCo Intern Update

As the sixth week of my internship wraps up I can honestly say that y experience as a sales and marketing intern here at PepsiCo has been extremely rewarding and informative. I've had the opportunity to learn from some of the industries top professionals, gain insightful knowledge, and comprehend how various departments throughout the supply chain operations work together to achieve optimal results. I have enjoyed learning about each part of the business and seeing how all the teams work together as well as how supply chain impacts each part of the business.

My Role/Project

My role and project in this internship is promotion execution. Specifically with a set of 15 stores that I manage and make sure they are following and running all the promotions that are assigned within each period. Promotion execution is very crucial to the companies overall supply chain and sales operations for several reasons:

1. Driving Sales Volume

2. Brand Visibility and Market Penetration

3. Customer Loyalty and Engagement

4. Competitive Advantage

5. Data Collection and Consumer Insights

6. Inventory Management

7. Revenue Growth

8. Market Feedback

Through my internship so far I have learned that effective promotion execution plays a vital role in enhancing a business's success by driving sales, increasing brand awareness, and fostering customer engagement. By strategically implementing discounts, special offers, and limited-time deals, businesses can boost their sales and attract new customers. Promotions also serve to elevate brand visibility, making the brand more recognizable and memorable in the marketplace. Engaging customers through various promotional activities, such as contests and loyalty programs, encourages interaction and builds lasting relationships. Additionally, promotions help manage inventory by moving excess stock and reducing holding costs. By differentiating from competitors and collecting valuable customer data, businesses can refine their marketing strategies and improve overall performance.

In-Class Relation

In class, we always talk about how important data is in making business decisions, and throughout my internship, I have found that to be true. Data is used to make decisions in everything from sales to supply chain management to inventory management to transportation. Retrieving data and converting it into useful information takes a lot of time. Due to the fact that we spend a significant amount of time working with data in class, this portion of my internship has piqued my interest. However, compared to what is used in the real world, our exposure in class is extremely limited.

Key Take Away

In general, my time at PepsiCo has been very helpful on the grounds that I have acquired such a lot of crucial information with the sales and marketing side as well as transportation. In addition, I have developed a wide range of skills and learned how to use numerous applications, making me an excellent candidate for future positions. Two of my primary takeaways are team work and the significance of communication and paying attention to the tiniest of details. Promotion execution and communication is very important if you want to keep customers and carriers satisfied and get repeat business from reputable companies.

Conclusion

This internship has offered an enriching learning experience that allows for the combination of strategic thinking, the development of technical skills, and overall personal growth. The takeaways from this internship will successfully benefit me for years to come. I am grateful to be working with a stellar team of Sales and Marketing people here at PepsiCo and cannot wait to continue enhancing my knowledge.
