My Pecha Kucha Presentation: Logo Design

Back before Christmas last year (which feels like a LIFETIME ago as I write this in the midst of Coronavirus lockdown) I convinced a friend to come along with me to an intriguing event: Leamington’s Pecha Kucha night.I had never heard of the Pecha Kucha format before but had seen that TedX Leamington had done a crossover event which popped up on my Instagram feed.

I was fascinating by the concept: an evening of talks from people of all ages, backgrounds and interests. The common theme was they had to abide by the rules of Pecha Kucha: 20 slides, only 20 seconds allowed per slide. When giving the presentation the slides automatically change every 20 seconds whether you’re ready or not!

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening, and after having a quick chat with one of the speakers who was sat in front of me, I decided I had to do a Pecha Kucha talk too.

Several weeks later I was almost sick with nerves as I prepared to give my talk to a room full of people - the tickets had sold out in record time 

6 minutes 40 seconds may not sound like a long time, but I was determined to give my presentation without notes. Not only that, I was up first (I figured it was best to get up there and get it over with so I could enjoy the rest of the speakers)!

My talk was all about logos: The Good, The Bad and The Downright Strange. As you’ll hear in the audio clip below (which accompanies the slideshow) I got some great reactions from the audience.
