My Passion of Painting

People usually pick up a hobby to destress from crazy work lives and the daily grind. Although they may not excel at those hobbies, they don’t care, because it's all about the passion. For me, it’s not about de-stressing though, it’s more like a calling from somewhere….directly to my soul.

Whether you paint, sculpt, sing, whatever, passion is the driving force behind the best creations and the best ideas. 

My passion- or one of them- is painting. I’m no Van Gogh, I assure you, but my paintings give me pleasure and peace of mind. My family and supports me fully and gives me ‘creative license’ whenever the spark gets ignited. 

Presently I do copies of paintings or sketches of which I find a deeper connection. After browsing through hundreds of pieces, I may connect with 2 or 3 max! I park them aside as my to-dos, and keep browsing. There are times when I feel the pic is easy and when I get down to doing it I see the intricacies. And then there are those times where I feel that the pic is daunting to replicate but when I actually get down to creating it, seems rather easy. Not to mention the times when I have to re-do the painting a number of times before I find it's complete and I connect with its outcome.

Then there are the Voila times where I get a first shot wonder ! Those are the times when I've felt a deep connection to the original. 

Though I do copies, my output becomes a variant of the original.

So when I sit in my drawing room, on the floor, in my oldest, most comfortable t-shirt, with my tiny stool as my table….I paint. The TV is on in the background, my wife is giving instructions to our housekeeper, someone’s phone is ringing, my son is playing video games….. I don't hear it, I’m in the ZONE.
