This is my office today!

This is my office today!

This is my office today!

It has also been my working place yesterday and the full week (and weekend) before. But this is not due to the #COVID19 emergency, even if general suggestion is to use #smartworking in Italy, and I live in Rome. I’m working here since this is my normal way of working every week of the year, when I need or want, and it is natural as well for everyone in my company from many, many years.

Someone says this is dependent on the trust the company has in you as an employee, or, maybe, your “sense of responsibility” to be “empowered” in managing your own time. Yes, maybe. I actually think this is mostly due to the incredible capability to express all your personal potential empowered by the most supportive #collaboration solutions available today.

The sense of continuity I have in my working day, independently of where I am – at the office, home office, customer premises and yes even at my holiday home – let me fully focused on what I need to do more than how and where. And I’m really proud to support my company efforts to help enterprises, schools and people to overcome current emergency with our solutions and with support of incredibly skilled colleagues.

As a closing note, I always like to see positive things even in worst situations, so one consideration that comes to mind is that, just like one of the legacies of SARS are the antibacterial GEL dispensers in the offices and in many public places, maybe when this COVID19 emergency is over we will be left a more efficient, more flexible and even more enjoyable way to work, learn and live.

I'll probably touch a sensitive nerve. In my opinion, blurring the boundaries between office and home inevitably entails difficulties with the balance between family and work. How are you coping with it? I also work a lot from home. Since I'm very passionate about my occupation, it isn't effortless for me to tear myself away from the computer.
