My Next Chapter at Auckland Council as a Technical Assessor

My Next Chapter at Auckland Council as a Technical Assessor

Thrilled to share the conclusion of my 12-month secondment, an incredibly rewarding journey that has allowed me to grow professionally and contribute meaningfully in various areas. Reflecting on this experience, here are some highlights of my roles and achievements:

Technical Assessor

- Serving as Technical Lead in developing the Code of Practice for processing staff, acting as the primary writer and technical guide for SMEs, with ongoing work to be continued in my new role.

- Delivered specialised technical training, including Steel Framing (NASH) consent assessment.

- Redesigned and improved auditor forms on the Engage platform, enhancing data collection to support targeted staff development and technical strategies.

- Conducted over 25 full assessments or moderations for processing officers (Res1-Res3).

- Resolved Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunities through practical policy development and implementation.

- Contributed to the assessment of Earthquake-prone Buildings.

Dam Safety Regulation

- Actively participated in the implementation process as a Subject Matter Expert, Change Manager, and Salesforce Implementation Tester.

- Drafted regulatory policies and official communications to support the rollout of the framework.

I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with such talented colleagues, especially my manager, Denise Whelan , whose guidance and belief in my abilities have been pivotal to my growth. As I transition into my new role as a Technical Assessor under her leadership, I’m excited to apply these experiences and continue driving positive contributions.
