My Next Challenge - Reinventing Transportation

For those of you that have not heard of Ola before, it’s one of the world’s largest ride-hailing platforms, operating over 1 billion rides each year in 110+ cities across the globe. Now, Ola is coming to the UK, and I have the privilege of being tasked with expanding our service to every corner of the country as Ola UK’s Managing Director.

It’s a huge challenge and one that I relish.

From its founding in India in 2011, Ola has remained dedicated to doing things differently. They work closely with local authorities in each market in which they operate to ensure they’re helping solve local transportation mobility issues. They’re a responsible and fair company, with industry-leading commissions for drivers. And they’re a passenger-focused company, offering multiple transportation options and in-app safety features. Ola is an innovative, dynamic company transforming mobility, while seeking to always act in a responsible manner. I am committed to ensuring this continues to be the case in the UK.

Those of you who know me know that I believe strongly in the power of new technology to make life easier and better. And you might also know that I’ve made a conscious choice to not own a car.

Through innovative platforms like Ola, I believe we can transform the way people move around cities. If we provide more transportation options, we make life easier for everyone. If we decrease car ownership, we will reduce traffic congestion and air pollution and improve mobility. This in turn has the potential to create even more meaningful change to how we live, helping to improve urban spaces, making them greener, safer, and more enjoyable for all.
