My Next Adventure
Today marks the beginning of a new and exciting adventure in my career. I spent the last year at Pure Storage and got to experience life in the private sector. Man, what a ride! I truly enjoyed my time at Pure and it is a phenomenal company with great people.
As I reflect upon last year at Pure some of the highlights that were most memorable were:
- Got to meet and support several new customers across DOE West. Although mostly remote, I established some great new relationships that will carry forward into my new role.
- Won the 1st corporate hackathon at Pure which resulted in the Zero Touch Provisioner application for FlashArray and FlashBlade.
- Led the delivery of a new solution that integrates Pure FlashBlade File and S3 Object directly into Azure Stack Hub in partnership with Gridpro.
- Learned the intricacy’s of being a vendor rather than a customer which provided such amazing insights into customers service, product engineering, and sales mechanics. I have a new appreciation for all the vendors out there!
- The excitement of the entire team rallying behind wins. So much fun and such energy and support.
So, thank you for everything Pure Storage!
For my next adventure I need to get back to my roots. Though working at Pure was awesome, I was still missing something…some element of purpose that is in my blood. I guess it comes from being at Sandia for 18 years and seeing the fruits of my labor directly or indirectly supporting a mission. So, when the perfect opportunity popped up from Idaho National Labs, I jumped on it. Starting today, I am joining the Enterprise Architecture group under the CTO to help INL continue their digital transformation both strategically as well as tactically. I am so excited to be at INL and cannot wait to see what challenges I get to be a part of.
