Recently, I was thinking about artificial intelligence, better known as AI. Oh, yeah, that was five minutes ago. But in all seriousness, AI is one of those hyper-trending topics that impacts all industry segments, socioeconomic layers, demographic niches, ages, and professions. If you live and breathe, AI is already touching your life—whether you know it or not.

The AI Dichotomy = Promise + Fear

AI has been top of mind for me and many of my friends and colleagues. Beyond thinking about it, we have taken the bold step of integrating AI into our daily and weekly workflows. Although my perception is heavily anecdotal, I think it's safe to say that I and most of my tech pals have enjoyed a significant benefit from the use of AI tools.

The two biggest fears among Americans are that 1) AI will take away their job and that 2) it will result in red-eyed robots in a real life armageddon mirroring Hollywood's Terminator film franchise. Neither fear is irrational. After all, it was barely more than 100 years ago that most of us were getting around on horses, dying in our forties, and things like Apple Pay, self-parking cars, and Netflix had never even been imagined.

I'll admit, at first I thought I could properly deal with the topic of AI in my regular article and podcast series that focus on IT professionals and technical writers. Soon, however, I realized that AI was monopolizing my regular learning resources and deserved its own communications vehicle. So that's what I did.

AI for Technical Writers Podcast: 5x per Week

The AI for Technical Writers Podcast drops five days a week, Monday through Friday at 11:00 am ET/8:00 a.m. PT. This podcast purposefully does not feature video in an effort to make it more inclusive. Important target audience segments include the blind (two million Americans), those with dyslexia (44 million Americans), and anyone who simply cannot safely read or watch video (such as during driving or exercise sessions).

This spinoff will allow my Technical Writing Success podcast to focus more on IT documentation and technical writing, leaving most of AI talk for the AI for the Masses Podcast. The AI for Technical Writers podcast is available on all major networks, including Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts, iHeartMusic, and Spotify, among others.
