My new morning routine to master my mind.
Many of us are afraid of taking risk and new opportunities, due to inner thoughts, self doubt or other's opinions. Including myself. As i have the ambition to go beyond myself and discover my full potential, i knew that i have to fix my mind as early as possible.
Small changes lead to bigger results. Small wins creates a momentum. Momentum that can help you to achieve the unachievable.
I decided to start with transforming my body and get back in shape. So i have created a new morning routine to get to this end result.
In a nutshell:
1- Wake up early
"The first step to win yourself is wake up early" - Sukant Ratnakar
In a way, it does feel like an accomplishment whenever you’re able to get up early. You can get started what you need to do, and hopefully be done early to enjoy the rest of your day. Waking up early is not just a win psychologically in that sense, it’s a win physically as well. I don’t note this to scare anyone, but research has suggested sleeping late can put our health at risk. If we want to win ourselves as Sukant states in her quote, we have to win our health and win ourselves a long life. I decided to gradually wake up earlier until i can wake up at 4:30 am.
2- Get some short exercises to activate your body
As spartans said: “Sweat more in training and you’ll bleed less in war.”
I'll spend the first 20 minutes in some mobility exercise. Sweating releases BDNF, a brain chemical that actually grows neural connections. Working out also releases dopamine (the neurotransmitter of motivation) and serotonin, which makes us feel happy.
3- Meditate for 15 minutes
"To understand the immeasurable, the mind must be extraordinarily quiet, still."
This is to get deeper reflection and to reset my self dialogue. Clarity precedes mastery and this practice will deepen your focus through the day.
4- Run 5Km everyday
This is the ultimate challenge. First, i'm not a natural runner. In fact, i hate it. But i found it has more than a physical transformation outcome, it's the best way to challenge your mind and educate it on a discipline and the capability of getting out of the comfort zone. It's also one of the best exercises to get quieter inside.
In a nutshell, this is what i'll be for the next 30 days and i hope this inspires you to go beyond your limited thoughts and Outwork yourself.
Peace,
Yassine
