My New Job!

Hello friends and readers! Today I wanted to use this newsletter space to update you on a personal matter.

Sixteen years ago I founded a Digital Transformation agency called FROM: Vision to Victory. Its been an incredible ride working with amazing brands like NBC, AVIS, the NFL, Airbus, Morgan Stanley, JPMC, Transamerica, Mattel, and many many more. Sometimes if I'm lying awake at night trying to fall asleep, I think about all the people in the world who are using the apps and other digital products we've helped those companies build. At any given moment there are probably at least hundreds of thousands of people using them right now. Maybe even millions. People calling for roadside assistance from AAA, people using payroll applications from ADP, people using the content web sites from A&E, News Corp and Readers Digest, and many more.

From the work that we have done and the processes that we have used to improve the measurable customer experience of those digital properties, I know that each of those people is having at least a little better experience because of the work that my team and I did. I guess we haven't changed the world. But I like to imagine that we've made, over time, many millions of individual digital interactions more pleasant, enjoyable and productive, and that makes me feel like its been a couple of decades well spent.

I also get a warm feeling when I think of the many executives who placed their trust in me and my company and who were able to deliver impressive business results for their companies as a consequence. Many of those executives got promotions, big bonuses, and often, even better jobs at other companies who wanted them to repeat their success elsewhere. To be able to have made a contribution to the career trajectories of these amazing people is also heartwarming.

Some of you may be aware, but about 18 months ago I sold the vast majority of my company to a fantastic Private Equity firm. They asked me to continue to run the company following that transaction, and I did so. During that time the company more than doubled in headcount and revenue. As of this month, however, I have handed the reins over to a new CEO who will be driving the company to next level growth. I am going to remain on The Board, but primarily I am very excited about having the time to turn my focus on a different, relatively new business that I am passionate about, a SAAS platform in a fairly new category of digital transformation that I think every enterprise will need before long. I'll talk more about that in the next newsletter.
