My New Desktop mini-tower PC – HP Envy Teo1, Windows 11, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD with wireless mouse/keyboard combo.
I recently bought a new desktop PC from Costco and installed it yesterday.?Here is my story.
The Shopping Process
The 9-year-old HP Pavilion desktop (Core i3) was getting slow and took minutes to boot and load programs.?I suspected that running Windows 10 with 8GB of RAM was the problem and it was time to buy a new PC.?I was looking for a tower PC from familiar brands such as HP, Dell or Lenovo, with 32 GB of RAM, 1 TB of SSD storage, an Intel Core i7 or i9 processor, and Windows 11 Home/Pro operating system.?I was primarily looking for a unit from Amazon, BestBuy, or Costco.
Amazon has thousands of selections though prices were at least twice as much as my last purchase.?A concern was the return policy as any opened items may incur a restocking fee. BestBuy was a big disappointment with few desktop PC stocks and no sales staff or geek squad in an almost empty store.?Costco only had a few units on display though the HP Envy mini tower looked like good value and fit at $999.?What prompted my purchasing decision were the package included a wireless mouse and keyboard combo plus their “no-questions asked” 90-day return policy.

The Installation
The installation went well since I had most of my important files on MS one-drive and my subscription of MS office 365 was cloud-based.?Windows 11 functions just like Windows 10 and all my favorites from MS Edge (browser) were ported over automatically. The PC has three display ports, and I used the HDMI and DVI ports to connect to my two monitors.?I started with wireless connection and switched to ethernet direct connection to the router two days later.?All my other accessories such as camera, speaker, headset, and Epson printer, and software programs (Office, G-Mail, Zoom, Grammarly, etc.) all work perfectly.
Thanks to HP for making reliable hardware and Microsoft for making sophisticated and efficient software and giving me excellent migration and installation experience.?Now it takes seconds to boot up and loading multiple programs is quick and easy. ??
