My New Children’s Book, Pay Matters to Kids

I’m thrilled to announce the launch of my latest book, Pay Matters to Kids! As someone who has spent years diving deep into the complexities of employee compensation and economic principles in my book Pay Matters: The Art and Science of Employee Compensation, I wanted to bring these important concepts to the next generation. That’s where Pay Matters to Kids comes in. If you’ve ever seen the gleam in a child’s eyes when they get paid for accomplishing something, then you’ll understand why I wrote about the real-life stories of 16 children.

Why Financial Literacy Matters Early On

In today’s fast-paced world, financial literacy is an essential skill that often doesn’t get the attention it deserves—especially at a young age. Questions like, "Should I save my allowance or spend it?" or "Is it time to open my first bank account?" are pivotal moments in a child’s early financial education. Pay Matters to Kids takes those questions and turns them into engaging lessons, using colorful illustrations and fun, relatable storytelling to teach kids the basics of earning, saving, and budgeting.

What You Can Expect from Pay Matters to Kids

Drawing from my work on employee compensation, this children’s book is designed to make foundational economic lessons accessible for young minds. The adventure-filled pages introduce children to the value of money, teaching them practical skills that will empower them for years to come.

Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, or caregiver, this book is perfect for sparking important conversations about money management with the little ones in your life. The goal? To equip the youngest members of society with the confidence to navigate the world of earning and spending with ease.

A Lifelong Appreciation for Financial Literacy

I believe that instilling financial literacy in children not only empowers them to make smart decisions now but sets them on a path for future success. Pay Matters to Kids is more than a book—it’s an investment in the next generation’s understanding of the financial world. I hope this book becomes a cherished resource for families everywhere, helping children understand and appreciate the value of money.

I’m excited to share this book with all of you and hope it finds its way into many homes. Let’s raise a generation that’s financially savvy and confident!

I love this idea David Weaver, CCA as financial maturity must start at a young age. It is shocking that we do not teach personal financial management in high school and college. Thanks for posting!
