My new book, Human Ecology, now available
Frederick Steiner
Dean at the Stuart Weitzman School of Design, University of Pennsylvania
My book Human Ecology is out. In the book, I begin with eight principles for understanding human ecology, and walk through these principles in habitats, communities, landscapes, regions, nation-states, and finally the planet, I take a methodical approach to understanding how and why our surroundings change. It is rich with vivid examples that span history and culture—including how ancient travertine quarries shaped labor needs of both the Roman Empire and 19th century Italy—Human Ecology is filled with discoveries that will captivate. I hope you’ll agree.
