my new blog and an update on my recording project
I have been working on a new blog about creativity and would like to introduce you to it. I have collected interviews I've conducted, personal essays and poems, and articles on the creative process for the blog. There are also links to all five of my books which are online at the archives at Georgia State University. The blog is organized with recent postings leading off. Keep scrolling and you will find all kinds of things. If you click projects you can view each category that I mentioned above. The blog is both a way for me to share my work in various areas and to offer my services as a creative consultant. I really enjoy working with artists and writers who need help with focus and direction. I also enjoy working with individuals who want to embark on a new creative journey. Creativity is both exciting and scary and sometimes a little external inspiration can motivate us to get back to or begin a creative project. You can sign up for regular updates for the blog (you can specify how often you want updates). And if you need assistance in creating your own blog I can highly recommend Paul Nguyen whose invaluable assistance helped bring this blog to life. Please share the blog if you are so inclined.

My project to record songs I have written as well as selected poems from my two poetry books is going very well. I am using the crowd funding site GoFundMe to raise money for the expenses of a recording studio, musicians' fees, product design, distribution, and promotion. I am very grateful for the support I have received so far. You can help me in a number of ways if so moved. You can donate to my GoFundMe campaign (you can donate anonymously if you wish), you can send me the donation directly if you prefer not to donate on the site, you can share this information with friends via email and social media like Facebook and you can send good energy in my direction. I hope to have the recordings finished and out in the world by late November. Here is a recording of a practice session at the recording studio 800 East. Jez Graham is on the piano, Emrah Kotan is on drums and Vlamir Abbud is on bass. Ken Gregory is the recording engineer. I wrote the music to this poem by the English mystic poet William Blake. Blake wrote these words when he was just 14 years old in 1771. Here's the recording. There is much more on the GoFundMe site about the project.
