My Negotiation Pet Peeves

  1. Open display of animosity between negotiators 
  2. Lack of understanding of what the other side needs
  3. Incomplete and/or wrong data
  4. Poor follow up on questions, solutions or methods
  5. Business as usual responses to questions
  6. Hide serious problems that you know will surface in the relationship
  7. No ability to fine tune (modify) agreements on a as needed basis
  8. Good cop / bad cop negotiation scenarios
  9. Undercutting a team member in front of the other side
  10. Talking about developing a “partnership” while demanding outrageous concessions in the name of “partnership”
