My Navigator in the Journey Called Life?

My Navigator in the Journey Called Life?

By Sharath Kumar R N

“The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.”

—Ralph Waldo Emerson

This powerful statement reminds us that our destiny is not predetermined by external factors or circumstances but by the choices we make and the resultant actions we take.

My Journey?

In my own life, I have found this quote to be deeply empowering. It serves as a constant reminder that I am the architect of my own destiny; that my future is shaped not by fate, but by the deliberate choices and decisions I make today.

In order to create my destiny, there is an essential input that must be kept at the forefront of the mind—making decisions and setting goals with awareness.

I have learnt that to live with cognitive awareness and not be led by blind desires is the key to being the navigator of one’s life.

What is Awareness and How Do We Gain It??

Awareness exists within the mind. One cannot understand the importance of one’s awareness until one understands their own mind.

Our mind functions in two ways:

1) Driven by emotions or an Emotionally-Charged Mind — This mind is run by one’s emotions. We make decisions and choices based on how we feel about someone or something. Our decisions are guided by trying to establish our own identity all the time, keeping “I” at the centre of every situation.

2) Driven by cognition or a Cognitively-Charged Mind — This mind is systematic and solution-oriented.

Have you ever seen people making decisions based more on what they like and dislike, or trying to please people in even the smallest affairs of life? That’s one example of an emotionally charged mind. A mind that is driven by emotions will struggle with the successful execution of tasks and sustained happiness.

On the other hand, a cognitively-charged mind will think systematically at the planning level. Such a mind will be more aware of the consequences of their choices and therefore will make better choices. Most importantly, such a mind will be driven by the innate principles of curiosity, service, and excellence. Therefore, the resultant rewards of their actions will be more sustained as well.

Goal Mind vs. Desire Mind

The study of Mind Mastery lays bare the difference between one’s Goal Mind and one’s Desire Mind.

While the concepts are deep, to put it plainly, the desire mind is one that is triggered by a person’s emotions. It “wants to have” or “wants to avoid” certain situations, persons, or things. Meanwhile, a goal mind is steady, it is cognitively precise and is driven by curiosity, service, and excellence.

This clarity helped and inspired me to take ownership of my life by identifying my Goal Mind and learning to operate most of my life from this mindset.

Functioning through the Goal Mind and pursuing my dreams with unwavering determination makes me feel that I am navigating my life, not some external unknown force or circumstance.

Anytime my desire mind comes up with its whimsical ideas, it has become increasingly easy for me to navigate through and bring my focus back to my destination goals, eventually moving towards excellence—which is my ultimate goal.

A Blissful Journey Ahead? As I learn to use my cognitive mind more, I feel like I am breaking free from many limiting beliefs

and societal expectations, allowing me to redefine success on my own terms.

It has empowered me to step out of my comfort zone, embrace new challenges, and pursue personal growth with clarity, passion, and purpose.

Mind Mastery at Ceekr? As I continue on my journey of self-discovery and personal development, I am grateful to be guided

by the philosophy of Mind Mastery, which I learnt at Ceekr. Here, I learnt about the mechanisms of my mind, about my goal and my desire mind.

Most of all, I learnt how to identify and fuel my cognitive mind, so I can build a life of sustained happiness, health, and prosperity.

Today I clearly recognise and understand that the only limits that exist are the ones I impose upon myself.

By embracing the power of choice and intention, I am confident in my ability to shape my destiny and navigate my life to become the best version of myself.?
