My MUSINGS 3: AI AND ML CHANGING THE DRONE INDUSTRY

Advancements in AI and ML are driving the development of drones enabled scenarios like beyond visual line of sight operations, drone deliveries, and disaster response. Drones will possess an unprecedented level of autonomy, enabling them to navigate complex environments, adapt to dynamic situations, and perform intricate tasks with minimal human intervention. Regulator frameworks along with the development of drone infrastructure are crucial to integrate them into our daily life, finely balancing innovation with safety, security and usefulness.

Drones, equipped with AI, will be able to navigate dynamic environments, detect obstacles, and optimize missions and thereby reducing human intervention. This trend will benefit industries like logistics, pharma, construction, agriculture infrastructure inspection etc.

As climate change intensifies, drones will play a pivotal role in understanding and mitigating its impacts. Drones are invaluable for environmental monitoring, collecting data on air quality, deforestation, and more. Integration of AI and ML in these flights will aid the researchers and policymakers in addressing pressing environmental issues.
