My Monday Rant: Day and Night... dreaming!

02nd Sep 2024, another Monday, another rant!
And so, as a Manchester United fan, I should say, yesterday's game was not good... AT ALL! But strangely, I feel very optimistic about this season - I'll just leave this here, I have a feeling I will come back to it with a smile later in the season. And on another level of the grim weekend of sports, in F1, Red Bull Racing could only manage 6th and 8th in the Italian GP; Max Verstappen and Segio Perez,? respectively. Things have changed around here, Ferrari won a race through strategy and McLaren just missed out because... well, because they are McLaren. But the Papayas (McLaren) are looking strong!!!
And so that is it on sports... that seems to get me going, let's get on with it then.
I had a dream last night, and it was so vivid; I was a Formula 1 Driver! I knew in the dream, as I know in real life, that I am way past the age of only starting now to learn how to drive a racing car. But there I was. In real life, as long as I've watched Formula 1, Abu Dhabi is always the final race in the calendar but this time around it was the penultimate one. I was celebrating with a friend of mine, "My G, I'm going to Abu Dhabi!" Then I was half awake and half dreaming... you know one of those surreal situations in which you can direct the ending of your dream? Like your thoughts coming through as if you're dreaming? That's the one, with a beautiful ending; winning a Formula 1 GP, under the beautiful lights in Abu Dhabi!
That got me thinking, about dreams in general, night dreams and day dreams alike.

My experience is, I tend to dream about whatever is on my mind more; I've been thinking about the situation with Red Bull Racing, how we've gone from number 1 to number 6 in no time at all. I guess I thought I was an answer, though I don't see how or why! ?? Even my friend in the dream...
I've had similarly vivid day dreams as well. Some of my day dreams are, I was supposed to have come into some insane amount of money, somehow, by now and I should be living it up in Ibiza, living on champagne and scones! I really don't have answers on why scones but... ???? I must have just had a very nice scone! Another one is that I was supposed to play for the National Football Team (Likuena). I liked soccer, still do, but I can't exactly say I would have been national team material even when I was in my 20s. But I had this qualm with the National Team selection growing up, that they didn't seem to be looking any further than the capital city for players to join the team... in a way, that dream wasn't mine, it was for all the boys I saw around at that time, who were really good but just never made it to the National Team. My absolute dream was the National Taekwondo Team... I believed, still do, that I was good enough! I should have made it, if someone, somewhere in the capital took notice. And oh, another one... I was supposed to have 11 kids. No reference to soccer at all, but yah, that idea was ridiculed out of the park immediately and I only have 2 now and 9 more seem a serious toll. What a miss! Well, at least I had the nerve to bring it up. ??
Don't I just wish for a half asleep - half awake situation with day dreams! Imagine, a father of 11 living it up in Ibiza on champagne and scones!
As I dream on... have a blessed week ahead everyone!
Até proxima semana!

6 个月I was in full agreement until you talked of champagne and scones. Isn't that blasphemy? Also I doubt you are too old to go for Formula 1 racing. Give it a go!
