My Mom win and Covid lost

Amidst all the negativity and Bad news around covid-19, I want to share with you my story which will bring you Ray of hope.

My Mom had travelled to her native place and she became unwell, we didn't realise the gravity of the situation until we tried to admit her to hospital and every hospital turned my Mom away stating her SPO2 level is 66 and it is a very critical situation. After 24 hrs of frantic search we finally found a hospital who admitted her. She was soon transferred to ICU and was put on a Bipap ventilator. Her condition was growing worse. The chest CT score showed above 90 percent lung infection. Doctor clearly said it is a very difficult situation and chances of survival are minimal.

Hats off to my Brother and Uncle who stood like rock solid with my mom in spite of daily multiple deaths and screams in the hospital, there were no visitors allowed inside ICU, still my brother went inside wearing PPE kit and that was a turning point. Mom was now motivated after seeing him. He used to feed my Mom daily and motivate her that she is doing well and will soon be discharged.

Mom was on Bipap for almost 20 days and 3 days on NRBM mask. Finally now she is discharged from the hospital still on oxygen support at home.

Doctor said this pure miracle and Mom's willpower.

My learnings and this will surely help others

1. Please please wear a PPE kit and go inside the ICU and meet your loved one. Trust me it makes a difference.
2. Food - Very important , make sure the patient is eating well , even if it's force fed. They need energy in the form of food, fruits, juices, and coconut water. It helps.
3. Constant motivation that the patient is doing well , and they will be discharged soon.
4. Patience is the key. 
5. Prayers , Trust in God supreme power and always Think positive.
