My Mobile Day Blog

Can you imagine a whole day you are not with your smartphone? I surely can’t! Imagine, going to work and suddenly you found that you forgot your phone. Will you able to spend as how you are in normal days with your phone? The Answer would be NO. Because, that’s how the smartphone has become a part in our daily lives and surely mine!

Smartphones truly have become an integral part of our life. So much so, that if one wakes up in the morning and had missed on charging the phone overnight, it feels like a great setback to see the “low battery” notification. And that sets the entire platform for how essential they are in our daily lives.

For me, like a lot of people I am sure, the first reflex action once I wake up is to check the time, if at all it was not the alarm clock which woke me up!

?The first few minutes, I spend on Instagram & Facebook – watching videos of pet, especially dogs, which sets my mood right, brings compassion, empathy, and positivity to start my day.

Once I am done with my ablutions, while cooking my meal, I talk to my parents back home on through WhatsApp Call function, and that reminds me of a couple of days when WhatsApp – Facebook Messenger – Instagram had crashed globally, there was no means of calling back home, unless I spent maybe a 100$ to talk the usual time. The Universe has truly become Metaverse and can be the biggest example of Mobile Friction!!

Now, while travelling, or even when doing other chores at home, Spotify or YouTube is something important, without which it gets annoying, as music and music videos are a great source of unwinding.

Once back home, OTT platforms like Netflix and Prime Video are a must! Since I don’t have a television and too lazy to sit in front of a laptop, lying down on bed, and watching series or movies at whatever angle I want, is liberating.

Being a travel freak, I always keep looking out for deals on flights and hotels, and just checking the flight trends for locations across the globe. Skyscanner has been my best pal in for quite some time now, but recently, my friend introduced me to Kiwi, when I booked my Mexico Trip! This activity helps in breaking the monotony of life – and the feeling that I might be traveling somewhere soon, and building itineraries around it, always keeps me going, with hope & passion, that there’s so much to do in life!

I even enjoy my daily dose of news from my Apple News section, both national (India) and International. I love to be updated on political and sports news from around the globe, especially now since I am so far away from home. I feel it’s very important to be aware of everything happening globally, saves you from sounding like a dumba**, pardon my FRENCH and also helps you to converse with people from various culture and countries.

INSIGHTS and CONCLUSION

I am an iPhone loyalist and have been using all of Apple’s products since time immemorial and as a consumer I can’t ever switching to Android or Windows. Having said that, there are lots of Apple features which I as a consumer don’t use, for example Apple Music or even Apple Pages (I use MS Word instead) and iMaps. So, from a marketer’s and consumers perspective, Apple could make some of its apps more user and pocket friendly. They could minimise or eliminate their subscription fees and the multi-level steps involved in their apps, which could lead to ease of integration, thereby leading to maintain their strong database of loyalists.

This is my Mobile Day Blog and it's an exercise I'd urge you to try. For all its negatives, a smartphone is a fantastic tool that can help you get the most out of your day.

Fostering an appreciation for something you use every day can really contribute to a more positive outlook on life: Something we could all benefit from.
