My management idol
In India, February 21st used to observe as National Management Day since 2007. (It was suggested by then President, late Dr APJ Abdul Kalam)
I am a curious student of self-management and situation management guidelines. I do not believe in the idea of managing people. I believe one should learn to manage herself/himself and grow as a natural leader. A great leader is one who can identify the inherent qualities in others, nourish it and align that to a common goal to change the situation for better. Though I read a lot about great leaders and management experts, the one influenced me a lot is a mythical character from India – The lord Krishna.
He was the embodiment of courage, compassion, justice, and joy.
He never portrayed himself as a perfect one.
A playful lover as well as a philosopher.
A mystic as well as a warrior.
People see him as they are.
He was one and many.
Powerful yet humble.
He remains as he is.
Alone & fearless.
Note: For who do not know Krishna - Lord Krishna is a mythical character from ancient Indian literature – The Mahabharatha. Lord Krishna worshipped as an incarnation of the Hindu God Vishnu. The legend says, Krishna enlightened the great warrior Arjuna with the sacred teachings to face the inner fears and confront the challenges of a man. Those lessons hailed as the Great Bhagavad Gita – The best personal management lessons summarized. I did this sketch of Krishna when I was in 6th standard.
