"It's always felt natural for me to step into a position of leadership, and for that reason, many of my peers, family members, mentors, and educators encouraged me to explore a career in business," says Grace Wright . Grace, a 2022 National Merit $2500 Scholarship winner, studied marketing at Butler University and now studies Public Relations and Strategic Communications at 美国普渡大学 . "After taking an introductory course in marketing, I realized that this aspect of the business profession allows me to be both analytical and creative; furthermore, the opportunities are endless in terms of what these skills can be applied to, whether it be the sports industry or corporate business," she says. Before beginning college, Grace worked as the social media manager for a family member's interior design business where she helped to grow the company's reach online. "With business and communication channels becoming increasingly digital, this experience served as an exciting hands-on learning experience that I will be able to use in tandem with a formal education," Grace explains.

Grace asserts, "I've always had a natural, intense drive for success. I knew that I was capable of achieving great things in whatever I dedicated myself to, and I did not want to have any regrets of knowing I did not give something my best effort. Being named valedictorian of my class and receiving the National Merit Scholarship have filled me with a profound sense of pride, as they validated that my dedication to my studies led me to such prestigious success."
