My Mad Max Plan of Action

I woke up last night mourning for the country I thought I knew. It's a dark time in the United States.

Today is a new day and it's imperative to prepare for what's coming.

This is a world where everything is viewed through the lens of winners and losers, a world of zero-sum game, a world of predators and prey, a world where only the strong survive.

That's an awful vision I know. I hope I'm wrong. But that's what Trump told us he wants.

It's not like we didn't know this was coming either. The closer to death Baby Boomers get, the more their selfish wish for an apocalypse is projected onto the rest of us.

Trump is their champion.

The next four years and maybe beyond will be the embodiment of a world where Mad Max comes to life. It's where technologists like Eldon Tyrell from Blade Runner emerge from the shadows, pulling the strings behind the scene.

It's a world, frankly, we should all be prepared to live in. So here's what I wrote last night. A tip sheet, a plan of action to live in such a world.

* Think like a conservative millionaire - everyone’s a sucker, charge even more money.

* Prepare for even more inequality and corruption. At all costs, stay out of debt.

* Patriotism is protecting yourself and your family. No one is going to save you.

* Expect a dramatic increase in random violence (on the roads, in grocery stores and schools). Consider arming yourself.

* Autocrats need someone to blame, expect violence against lgbtq+ communities, immigrants and African Americans.

* Take care of your health. Medicine is about to get very expensive.

* Avoid entanglements with the law. The law will be turned against Americans.

* ?Do not rely on the courts. The rule of law is broken.

* Restrict your travel. Stay away from red states and counties.

* Avoid family and friends who support Trump. They don't care about you or your concerns.

* Do not reward malice by taking the bait and reacting. Anger is a symptom of the disease.

* Turn off the media. Truth will suddenly be even more difficult to discern.

* Take advantage in the markets. Short US debt and bet on hyper-inflation… buy prison stocks, health care and defense tech.

* Expect even more geopolitical conflict. Isolationism always brings war.

* Prepare for mandated indoctrination via education. Autocrats must indoctrinate via education to control the population. Pro tip: If you're a teacher and you can, retire early.

* Be careful what you say and trust no one. There will always be people around who support the government and will rat you out if you disagree with it.

* Don’t be fooled. The America you thought you knew isn’t.

* Democracy was never guaranteed. It’s ok to mourn.

* Leave the country if you can.
