My List of People To Follow
The lists of who to follow reminds me of the power of LinkedIn. I can be hated by complete strangers in foreign countries. No one demands nor deserves worship. The choices on most of these lists are milquetoast. It would be like recommending Taylor Swift if you want to hear popular music.
Tell someone about a band they never heard of. The most obvious people on this list have mutual connections and they post about hiring a pregnant woman with superpowers who wakes up at 5 AM. At least she doesn't sell Bitcoin.
Ever notice no Bitcoin or Forex salesmen post in the feed? They always hit you after connecting and that is no relationship. The lovely and talented Roger Wilkerson wrote a list of people not to follow. He has enough sense of humor to include himself. Many on his list of people who add no value are on the lists others use as a cheap ploy to bring traffic to them.
Screw that. Some on the list of people to avoid are connections of mine. I am not dating any of them nor feel the need to defend their honor. They are big boys and girls who can defend themselves.
Most will stick their noses in the air and act superior. If you follow them they might want you to break the First commandment. Anyone who responds, communicates and engages is worth knowing. Simple as that. Mileage may vary. Some who allegedly respond to all never responded to me.
No reason to respond to them. If you think born again Christians are annoying? Born again LinkedIn Influencers are worse. "I was fat and broke until I found this site where I have ninety thousand followers." They are still morally bankrupt.
In summation? If you would want to meet someone in life? Connect. If they put you off? Don't connect. Just like in life; some who seemed like jerks are actually nice and some who should be friendly are not. You won't know until you reach out and engage.
