My LinkedIn Strategies

My LinkedIn Strategies

If we have recently become connected, welcome!!

Earlier this year I created a social media guide for the sales teams at the dealerships I work for. The concept was to bring more value all around: have the sales teams creating a voice for themselves as well as the dealerships, which will ultimately bring in more business! Then I thought, if the sales consultants are doing it, I should be doing it too. I wanted to be the example for everyone to show that when you put a plan together, work it, you can achieve success.

Since I implemented this guide, I have been a panelist on different industry webinars, a guest on different automotive and marketing podcasts, have been featured in industry trade publications, invited on an expert dealer panel, and recognized with a nomination for the work that I have done. I have also made so many meaningful connections that I never would have found without this platform.

You might be thinking, that’s great, what does that mean for me?

All of these things have come to me as opportunities from posting on LinkedIn, and you can do this too!

Here are a few strategies I recommend with the LinkedIn platform:

1.    Make a plan – determine what you want from posting on LinkedIn. For example, I wanted to create a name for myself in the auto industry. What do you want from posting? A new job, to be a guest speaker, attract potential talent to your company, etc.

2.    Design your story – what makes you different or unique? Why would someone want to network with you, or buy from you?

3.    Consistently post – post every day and use hashtags! I didn't start out posting every day multiple times a day, but I do now. Hashtags help people find your content. You will see that at certain times of the day you get better engagement (likes, comments, etc.) I like to try all different times to see what works best. You will also see which performs better, video, or static images.

4.    LIKE YOUR POSTS – this seems really silly and a little bizarre, but the LinkedIn algorithm will serve your posts up (or comments) when you engage with content.

5.    Give away helpful information – it will create more engagement and trust.

6.    BE YOU – authenticity always wins.

Remember – anything worth having is worth working for. Do not get discouraged if you don't have an insane amount of engagement to start. It will happen over time. It is not easy to create a presence on any social platform. With a little sweat equity, you can make it happen!!
