My LinkedIn journey!

It has been a journey... Thank you for being part of it! 

When I first joined Linked I had little to no knowledge of navigating through a platform full of distinguished professionals in their various career fields. I wasn't even confident enough to update my profile since I thought that it is a network full of very senior people in the companies they work in, my profile couldn't count. I had no title that I could mention at that time (I was still in Campus).

I vividly remember how I was calling my mentors and friends who already had LinkedIn accounts to help me set up my profile and what to write in it. It was like one of the nerve-wracking Survival Analysis lectures I was attending at that time in the University. Honestly, to stay afloat on LinkedIn at that time was like analyzing how to survive using the Kaplan–Meier estimator or the Nelson–Aalen estimator. It looked so complicated that I would spend hours just staring at my blank profile which had only my name. 

The great excitement came in when I slowly started updating my profile and got an “all-star” from LinkedIn. I know most of us never saw that "all-star" notification or just assumed it. For me, it was a great achievement. It was a moment of incredible joy. It was time to start believing in myself. It was the motivation I needed. 

Soon enough, I started getting connection requests and sending connection requests to professionals in my line of interest and beyond. I got mentors who have guided me and gave me life-changing advice. I have met people who I would have never thought of meeting were it not for LinkedIn. I have mentored many people who eventually excelled in what they were seeking help in. I have met people who have referred me to apply to jobs, and some send me the job vacancies to share with my network. Most importantly, I have met a family of more than 11,400 professionals who are always there to guide me when I need help. 

In all honesty, LinkedIn has been an essential tool in my career development, and I thank you all my connections for being part of this amazing journey.
