My letter to C E O of Amazon.com, Mr. Jeff Bezos,

Respected C E O of Amazon.com, Mr. Jeff Bezos,

 

Re: Highly Deplorable and shamefully insensitive way of

      disposing of the issues of your aggrieved customers.

 

I am sending this message to you, with a painful heart and inexplicable agony.

 

Just to provide you a little background of this unpleasant incident, presently, all the 3 members of my Family, My Wife, Daughter, and I , are abed with COVID-19.

I am a CANCER Survivor also.

As can be observed from the prescription of the Doctor, we were asked to inhale steam, to combat the impact of Corona, accordingly, I placed an order with Amazon.Com on 19th June for a Steam Vaporizer, based on the Advertisement shown and the product details provided in the website.

 To my utter shock, I received an altogether different product, of very cheap plastic-make, on 25th June, after a delay of 5 days. The stench and the smell of the plastic is so horrible, nobody can use it to inhale the stream from the said Vaporizer.

 The amount paid by me was Rs.899/= ( MRP Rs.1900+), whereas the MRP of the product which I have received is Rs.320/_ ( Image attached).

 Manufacturer’s Name, Design, Quality, Price, Material used, everything differed.

 When I pointed out this anomaly to your Team Online, I was told that the product was not returnable. After a prolonged discussion, I was asked “ Not to worry, as a special case, the amount would be refunded.”

 My Dear C E O, what kind of training you have imparted to your employees? What type of control system is at a place in Amazon?

 For you, this is just a case of one minuscule, Lost-transaction. But for me, it is deeply painful and disgusting to deal with Amazon.com.

 Do you think that Amazon.Com has done a great service to me by refunding the amount paid by me, that too, after a week’s time? 

 If I were to be in your place, believe me, my Dear C E O, by hook or by crook, I would have procured the ordered product from somewhere, ( I would have moved the earth,  gone to MOON!), and presented it to the suffering elderly Couple. ( I am 74, my Wife 71, Sick, bedridden, unable to go out and buy the product). By the way, are you contributing anything to ease the pandemic impact on humanity?

 Alas, Amazon, has deceived us. No remorse, No regrets, No replacements, Lo, your money has been refunded….

 What an insensitive way of understanding the needs of your loyal customers? I must have been your customer for over a decade. 

 I believe Amazon has cutting-edge technology, foolproof quality control, and seamless processing systems… lack a humane approach?

 Is it possible to ingrain a few humane elements in your systems, processes, procedures, which presently seem to manifest purely a  commercial approach,  bereft of empathy, compassion, concern, and rarely customer-centric?

 You have grown into a mammoth, gigantic workshop, obviously with little human values,  but remember, Mr.Jeff, the Amazon has become an ocean, because of every drop of commission, it has earned from gullible people the world over.

 What has irritated, infuriated, irked me is, your Team wants a feedback from me, with one sentence question, “ Have I solved your problem.”

 Tell me, Mr. Jeff,  what should I reply?

Also, can you please answer me

1.  Why do you advertise about the Product, which you cannot supply?

2.  Why can’t you frankly say, if it is not available, and why do you confirm the order?

3. Why do you send a cheap, substitute, ( in this case a health hazard) without obtaining the consent of the Customer?

 Extremely hurt and humiliated customer.

You should take this issue to customer forum as well sir… might be after that they will address this issue seriously..
